Hi Friend,

As we continue to gear up for our second annual Vision Zero Fleet Forum (VZFF) next month, we are fresh off of events that helped position TSR and our members as leaders in road safety.

Last month we presented our work in Houston at SXSW. And earlier this month, we presented our work in Bellevue, WA at Concordia’s inaugural Lexington Summit which helped advance civil discourse and understanding between different socio-economic groups in the U.S. Both sessions are now available for listening and viewing.

Safer roads, as we all know, start with safer drivers and while April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, we focus on it year-round—as does our partner Samsara, who recently reviewed more than 9.8 million distracted driving alerts in their latest Data Insights Analysis.

Thank you for your support and we hope to "see" you virtually next month at VZFF.

TSR's SXSW Session, Gulfton's Journey to Complete Community and Life, Now Available for Listening

In 2020, we helped pair the private and public sectors together to turn Hillcroft Avenue, once considered one of the most dangerous roads in Houston, into a safer and more equitable road. This work helped inspire Vision Zero improvements around the city of Houston and bicycle enhancements in adjacent neighborhoods.

We were thrilled to be able to bring together a panel at last month’s SXSW conference to introduce this project to experts in road safety, Corporate Social Responsibility and more. Selected via SXSW’s PanelPicker®, their user-generated session proposal platform that allows the SXSW community to have a voice in what sessions are programmed at SXSW, our session was very well received.

And now you too can listen to the session.

If you’re interested in learning more about how TSR and our partners help communities achieve Vision Zero, let us know.

Strong Community, Safe Roads— TSR at the Inaugural Concordia Lexington Summit

Earlier this month, TSR attended Concordia’s inaugural, U.S.-focused Lexington Summit.  The Summit created opportunities for dialogue, partnership, and progress on the most pressing issues facing the U.S.

Our 25-minute panel discussion, Strong Community, Safe Roads, brought our work in Bellevue, WA front and center to an audience dedicated to collaborative work that improves communities. TSR and a panel of other smart city experts—including our partner AB InBev’s Foundation, discussed how cities can utilize near miss studies and data collection to create safer roads. We also discussed how public-private partnerships can be constructed at the city and state level across the U.S. to create safer communities.

Following the panel, we held a roundtable where we discussed the unexpected (and key) role road safety plays in community vitalization.

While the roundtable was not recorded, the panel discussion was and is now available for viewing.

33rd Annual Equipment and Vehicle (NYC Fleet Show)

Registration is now open for TSR’s long-time partner, NYC DCAS’ NYC Fleet Show on Thursday, May 26. The show will be from 9am-2pm ET at Flushing Meadows Corona Park at the Unisphere.

The show will highlight vendors who support the City of New York’s Clean Fleet and Vision Zero initiatives, as well as daily operations. Vendors will offer a wide array of products to improve vehicle safety, including cameras, truck side guards, systems to track and manage fleets, and systems to avoid or mitigate collisions.

The show will also highlight vehicles and equipment with alternative fuels and emissions-reducing technologies, along with the latest in light and heavy-duty vehicles, trucks, horticultural equipment, tools, fleet services, and more.

Exhibitors in all sectors of fleet vehicles, equipment, products, and services are welcome to register to exhibit. The show is free to all exhibitors and attendees.

Vision Zero Fleet Forum 2022

With the support of sponsors AB InBev, Lytx, Interstate Waste Services, and Republic Services, we're thrilled to be bringing back our virtual Vision Zero Fleet Forum next month.

As the pandemic and the global shipping and supply chain disruptions continue to remind us—and with 72 percent of America’s freight transport moved by trucks—transportation-related organizations are an essential part of our communities.

Hear from dozens of speakers who will be sharing their experiences, strategies, and knowledge.

Connect with those that:

  • Make, build, use, or share the roads with a fleet of vehicles
  • Use roads as emergency, essential or shared micromobility services
  • Are Vision Zero practitioners, or are municipality representatives
