Hi Friend,

With the first day of spring finally here this weekend, we continue working on events in 2022 that will help position TSR and our members as leaders in road safety.

As we wrap up our Gulfton panel discussion at SXSW this week, we have even more opportunities to introduce TSR to sophisticated audiences whose own efforts rely on safe roads.

From our work with Concordia’s inaugural, U.S.-focused summit next month in Lexington, KY to their annual summit in NYC this September —coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly— we also have our own Fleet Forum in May we hope you’ll all be able to attend virtually.

Additionally, we’re looking for panelists to join us in May at the Government Fleet Expo in Detroit, MI as well as in NYC in September. Read on for the details.

As always, please feel free to reach out to us with feedback, content ideas, or questions. We look forward to hearing from you - and maybe seeing some of you in person soon.

Save the Date! Our Vision Zero Fleet Forum - May 18-19, 2022

The Vision Zero Fleet Forum (VZFF) is our fleet-specific, Vision Zero-focused conference to maximize knowledge-sharing and the latest research trends with TSR, our partners, and those in the industry.

Held the same month as Road Safety Week, which highlights the benefits of low-speed urban streets as the heart of any community, 2021’s event attracted close to 500 global participants. This year's event will be May 18-19, 2022.

While we finalize the sessions to be held, keep an eye on the
2022 event page for more details. We can't wait to see you all again at our second annual virtual event.

We’re pleased to announce that we’re a Lead Programming Partner for Concordia’s inaugural, U.S.-focused Lexington Summit taking place April 7-8, 2022.  The Summit creates opportunities for dialogue, partnership, and progress on the most pressing issues facing the U.S.

Join us for our 25-minute panel discussion, Strong Community, Safe Roads, which will bring our work in Bellevue, WA front and center to an audience dedicated to collaborative work that improves communities. TSR and other smart city experts will discuss how cities can utilize near miss studies and data collection to create safer roads. We'll also discuss how public-private partnerships can be constructed at the city and state level across the U.S. to create safer communities.

Driver Attitude Towards Vehicle Safety Technology White Paper Featured in Automotive Fleet Magazine

The first-of-its-kind research we did to better understand what makes drivers reluctant to adopt in-cab camera technology was featured in Automotive Fleet Magazine. The white paper also identified what can be done to positively influence perceptions.

Over 500 professional drivers were surveyed, and questions focused on basic perceptions of, and implementation of, technology as well as actions by management.

In our Driver Attitudes Towards Vehicle Safety Technology white paper, learn how:

  • In-Cab Technology Improves Driver Safety
  • Driver Trust in Technology Increases with Personal Experience
  • Managers Play a Key Role in Adoption

If you haven’t yet, download our white paper today. If you have read it, help spread the word on social.
Present to Key Stakeholders Attending the United Nations General Assembly and Concordia Annual Summit

September in New York City will be a busy month for road safety.

The 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) will be held September 13-27 with General Debate starting on September 20th. As a reminder, The United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognized road safety as a prerequisite to healthy lives and well-being as well as making cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

And Concordia’s Annual Summit, will be held digitally and live in New York City September 19th-21st. With over a decade of experience bringing together heads of state, leaders of the private and NGO sectors, and new and diversified perspectives to explore tangible solutions to local and global challenges, it will be the largest convening alongside of the UNGA. The 12th Annual Summit will convene the top movers and shakers of today’s world to spark dialogue, promote collaboration, and collectively pave the path toward a more equitable, sustainable future.

Save the week of September 19th and let us know if you’d be interested in participating in a panel held this week near UNGA and Concordia’s Summit in NYC to reach these key stakeholders in road safety.
Join Our Panel at the Government Fleet Expo and Conference

The Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), is the largest annual conference for public fleets in the nation. Held this year in Detroit, MI, join our in-person May 25th panel, Safety Starts with Spec'ing.

Description: Driver behavior is one factor when it comes to road safety, but the other factor is the vehicle itself. Larger vehicles notoriously have blind spots that contribute to vehicle collisions and reduced road safety. The best way to address this? Spec’ing a better cab. This session will address the blind zones common in larger vehicles, present safety data on regular versus high vision trucks, and show what to look for when spec’ing for safety.

If you work with government fleets and can help answer “what can the fleet manager learn that they can then apply to their operation? What can they do to spec these trucks now?” – let us know.

We’re looking for one other person to join our panel that will be moderated by Noah, our executive director, with confirmed panelists being a representative from the U.S. Dept of Transportation’s Volpe Center, and Mahanth Joishy, Fleet Superintendent for the City of Madison, WI.
